K-12 & Higher Education

Your IT team may be small. Your responsibilities are not.

Keeping classrooms connected, protecting student records, supporting faculty and staff, and planning the next refresh shouldn’t depend on one or two people. Pantheon Global IT helps school districts, community colleges, and universities build secure, reliable technology their teams can actually manage, and buy it through the contracts they already use.

Trusted by K-12 districts, colleges, cities, counties, and hospitals.

Sound familiar?

Your team is carrying too much.

We help you fix the root cause: less complexity, aligned lifecycles, backups you can actually recover from, and a team that knows how to run what you own.

One person knows every critical password, network change, and workaround. If they’re out, nobody else can check the firewall logs, add a VLAN, or adjust a content filter.

Equipment bought in different years ages out at different times, turning every refresh into an annual emergency.

Separate consoles for firewalls, wireless, switching, email, backups, and cameras eat up time your team doesn’t have.

Leadership wants budget answers and clear priorities while your team is keeping school running.

FERPA, CIPA, account security, ransomware, and cyber insurance questionnaires all land on the same small team.

K-12 Districts

Stop making the tech director carry everything

Your director should be in front of the superintendent talking priorities, not the only person who can diagnose a VLAN or change a firewall policy. We help districts map what they own, simplify what they run, and prepare staff to operate what gets deployed.

  • Lifecycle planning. Assets and end-of-support dates in one view, with a refresh order you can defend.
  • E-Rate Category 2. Wireless and switching projects scoped, priced, and timed to your funding year.
  • CIPA and student safety. Content filtering, student monitoring, and internet safety controls that fit your district.
  • Ransomware recovery. Backups you can test and restore, not just hope work.
  • State cybersecurity expectations. Policies, a named coordinator, and incident readiness.
  • Training for your team. Manufacturer training programs that won’t touch your budget, so knowledge doesn’t live in one head.

Based on a recent district engagement

A 3,000-student district with a two-person IT team

The situation

A new technology director inherited a network nobody had documented. Firewall, switching, and wireless came from different vendors and different purchase years, each with its own console and login. Two pieces were nearing end of support. The district was also fighting spoofed emails impersonating staff, and VPN access was eating hours every week. The director was the only one who could make changes, while also running the budget, reporting to the superintendent, and planning the next bond.

What we did

We sat down with the director before talking products. We walked every campus, mapped what they owned and when each piece aged out, and listened to what they needed: one place to manage the network, fewer windows to log into, clear visibility, and reports the superintendent and board could actually read. We recommended an integrated network and security platform managed from a single pane of glass, with centralized logging and executive-ready reporting built in. Remote access moved onto the same platform. For email, we added AI-driven security that stops impersonation and spoofing and automates the response, so the team isn’t triaging alerts all day.

The part that mattered most

We enrolled the district’s technician in manufacturer training and certification programs at no cost to the district, paired with hands-on sessions with our engineers. Before long, the technician was checking logs, adding VLANs, and working through content filter and wireless issues on their own. The director got time back for planning, budget, and leadership.

The results

  • One management console instead of separate ones for firewall, switching, and wireless
  • Executive reports ready in minutes when the superintendent or board asks
  • Spoofed and impersonation emails stopped before reaching inboxes
  • VPN management folded into the same platform
  • A lifecycle calendar so equipment ages out together, on a predictable schedule
  • A second team member trained and confident running the network

Colleges & Universities

Modernize without overwhelming the team

A small college can carry enterprise-level requirements: multiple campuses, student information systems, financial aid, residence halls, and student services, often with a handful of IT staff. We help simplify complex, aging environments into something your team can operate, secure, and recover.

  • SIS and ERP infrastructure. Network, compute, storage, and security behind your student information and ERP platforms.
  • GLBA Safeguards Rule. Institutions handling federal student aid must protect financial data. We help close the technical gaps auditors look for.
  • FERPA and identity. MFA, access controls, and email security against account compromise and fraudulent applications.
  • Backup you can prove. Immutable on-premises backup with a tested restore plan.
  • Campus network modernization. Switching, Wi-Fi, and firewalls sized for students who bring three devices each.
  • Records and governance. Retention, information governance, and compliance support.

Based on a recent college engagement

A regional college running on a 10-year-old environment

The situation

A regional community college was running core infrastructure more than ten years old. Wi-Fi coverage was inconsistent, several overlapping backup products had piled up over the years, none fully trusted, and no one had tested a full restore. The small IT team spent its days keeping things alive instead of moving the college forward.

What we did

We started with a strategy session, not a quote. We reviewed critical applications, the core network, storage, every backup job, and what the college would need to recover first after an outage. The plan focused on simplifying: retire the overlapping backup tools, replace the aging network, and build a recovery process the team could run on its own.

The solution

  • A complete campus network refresh with integrated security, managed from one platform
  • A single on-premises backup solution with immutable storage to protect against ransomware
  • Documented recovery priorities, assigned system owners, and a regular restore-testing schedule
  • Hands-on training so staff can verify backup health and practice restores, not assume a finished job means a good backup

The results

  • Three overlapping backup products consolidated into one
  • First successful full restore test in more than four years, now repeated on a schedule
  • A modern, secure network replacing 10+ year old infrastructure
  • A phased lifecycle plan leadership can fund over time
